How to use Folderloom in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini

Find the task you want to do. Each guide shows the relevant controls and the steps to use them.

Keep one project together across three AI tools.

Bring related ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini chats into one folder tree. Open any chat in its original AI site.

  1. Create a project folder. Add a folder, choose a color, then move a chat with its chat menu or drag it onto the folder.
  2. Bookmark what you reopen. Keep key chats under Bookmarks and type a folder or chat name into the sidebar search.
  3. Use the conversation actions. Save a prompt, edit a note, copy the chat, or open Export from the row above the thread.

Use subfolders and colors as projects grow. Delete removes the Folderloom reference; the original AI chat stays unchanged.

Find the answer you remember, not just the title.

Search the chat text saved on this device and jump back to the original conversation.

  1. Turn on local capture. Enable optional chat capture in Folderloom, then open the chats you want to search.
  2. Search a phrase. Open Advanced Search and enter a word or phrase such as 'storage wall'.
  3. Filter and open. Choose All, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, then open a matching message or use its actions menu.

Search covers cached text on this device, not your entire account history. Unloaded messages, images and attachments may be missing; queries and cached text stay on your device.

Read the Advanced Search guide

Search for 'storage wall' and find matching messages across your AI chats.

Keep the instructions that work. Reuse them anywhere.

Save a prompt once, organize it in your library and insert it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

  1. Open Prompt Library. Use the button above the composer or the floating Folderloom button.
  2. Pick a template. Choose a saved prompt and fill in its variables.
  3. Insert and review. The filled text goes into your draft; review it before you send.

Prompt variables are included during your trial and with Pro. Inserting a prompt does not send it.

Find a saved prompt or choose a template to reuse in your draft.

Find your place in a long chat and keep the reasoning beside it.

Use Contents to move around a long conversation, then keep a note and a few follow-ups with it.

  1. Jump to a section. Open Contents and choose the part of the conversation you need.
  2. Keep a note. Add the decision, priority or constraint you want beside the chat.
  3. Add a follow-up. Turn on Follow-ups, pick a suggestion and edit it in your draft before sending.

Notes and follow-ups stay with the conversation in Folderloom. Picking a suggestion only fills your draft; you still press Send.

Put a useful answer to work.

When a reply gives you something worth keeping, use the conversation toolbox to save reusable text, record a decision or take the chat with you.

  1. Keep what matters. Choose Save as prompt to reuse the text, or add a note with the decisions and constraints you want beside the conversation.
  2. Take the text with you. Use Copy or open Export conversation to choose a document format.
  3. Choose your next question. Pick a Follow-up suggestion, edit it in your draft and send it when you are ready.

Choosing a follow-up fills your draft; it does not send a message. Notes stay with the conversation in Folderloom.

Give your next AI the context you choose.

Prepare a handoff from the current chat, edit it and continue in another AI.

  1. Open Work Across AI. Start it from the chat you want to carry forward.
  2. Review the draft. Edit the captured text and instructions before continuing.
  3. Open the destination. Choose Change destination, then Open in Gemini and press Send yourself.

Only available text and code carry over. Attach images, files and artifacts separately; unloaded history may be missing. This is a reviewed handoff, not automatic synchronization.

Continue a conversation from its chat menu.

Use One-click transfer when you want Folderloom to move the conversation text into another AI and send it automatically.

  1. Open the conversation menu in the Folderloom folder tree and choose One-click transfer.
  2. Choose the destination AI when prompted. Folderloom opens the destination, transfers the available conversation text and sends it.
  3. Check the new conversation and its folder placement before continuing your work.

This action sends automatically. Choose Continue across AI above if you want to review a draft first. Images, files, artifacts and unloaded history may not carry over.

Compare transfer with a reviewed draft

Choose One-click transfer, then select the destination AI.

Turn a useful conversation into a document.

Choose PDF, Word, Markdown, TXT or JSON. Preview your export, then keep a copy generated on your device.

  1. Open Export from the conversation actions or the floating Folderloom button.
  2. Choose a format and check the preview.
  3. Download the file. PDF, Word, Markdown, TXT and JSON are generated on your device.

Trial and Pro include all five formats. Export uses loaded chat text; attachment files are not embedded. An online Pro access check is required.

Frequently asked questions

What can Folderloom help me with?

Folderloom organizes ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini chat links in one folder tree. Bookmark important chats, search captured text, save prompts in folders and fill in template variables. Continue with a draft you review, or use One-click transfer to send context automatically. Export loaded chat text as PDF, Word, Markdown, TXT or JSON. Account sync and saved prompt edit recovery keep your organization and reusable instructions accessible.

Can Advanced Search find my entire chat history?

Advanced Search checks titles and conversation text saved on this device. Automatic capture is optional and off by default for each Google account. Enable it in Settings, then open the chats you want to make searchable. Unloaded messages, images and attachments may be missing. Search keywords and cached chat text are not sent to Folderloom’s servers.

Does Folderloom sync my data between devices?

Yes. Folders, bookmarks, chat links and saved prompts sync with your Folderloom account while your trial or paid access is active. Chat transcripts and the search index stay in the browser where they were captured. Sign in to Folderloom with the same Google account on your next device. One extension session is active at a time; connecting a new session pauses the previous one.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Connect with Google to start your account’s 7-day Pro trial, sync your organization and manage paid access. No card is required for the trial. Your Folderloom connection is separate from the AI accounts you use on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Opening a saved chat still requires access to its original AI account.

What happens after the 7-day trial?

After the 7-day Pro trial, choose $4.99/month, $49.99/year, Pro Lifetime for $29.99 once (regular $59.99), or Business for $100 with 10 seats. Tools lock when access expires, but your saved local data is retained. There is no permanent Free plan. Reconnecting or reinstalling does not restart the trial. Buy a monthly or yearly subscription on this website with Google, then use the same account in Folderloom. A subscription purchase is charged immediately; the card-free trial starts separately in the extension. Existing valid Lifetime and Business licenses remain supported.

How deep can folders nest?

Create up to three levels of subfolders inside a folder, for example Work → Client → Project → Task. Use folder colors, drag and drop, bookmarks and title search to keep larger projects easy to browse.

What is the Pro Lifetime offer?

Pro Lifetime is $29.99 once (regular $59.99) for account-linked Pro access for the lifetime of the Folderloom product. Business is $100 once for 10 seats. Review availability, taxes and terms at checkout. Existing valid Lifetime and Business licenses remain supported.

Will Folderloom send a chat to another AI automatically?

Choose the workflow that fits your task. Continue prepares an editable draft from available text and code; review the destination composer and press Send yourself. One-click transfer sends the available conversation text to the destination AI automatically. Unloaded history, images, files and artifacts may not carry over. Attach essential files separately.

How do saved prompts and variables work?

Save a composer draft or create a prompt in Prompt Library. Organize prompts in folders and subfolders across the three supported AI sites. Add placeholders such as {{brand}} or {{audience}}, fill in their values and preview the final prompt before inserting it. Inserting a saved prompt does not press Send. Filled variable values are not part of workspace sync.

Which formats can I export?

Trial and Pro include PDF, Word, Markdown, TXT and JSON. Load the messages you need, open Export, choose a format and download it. Preview in new tab opens a PDF view. Documents are generated on your device after an online Pro access check. Images, files and artifacts are not embedded.

What can I recover when prompt edits conflict?

Open Data & recovery to review the saved prompt edit. Restore a separate copy if you need its text, or dismiss an edit you have checked. Recovery is for saved edits and does not restore a conversation deleted in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

What data is sent to Folderloom?

Account sync sends folders, bookmarks, chat links and saved prompt text to Folderloom. Chat transcripts, local search indexes and filled prompt variable values are excluded from that sync. Account and access checks use server services; Polar handles payments. Sending context or a prompt to an AI shares it with that destination provider. Removing the extension or Chrome profile can remove local-only data.

Start with the AI work you want to keep.
